TREASURER’S REPORT
I'd
like to thank the delegates for electing me your new Florida State
Association of Letter Carriers Treasurer by acclamation at the 2011
State Convention. It will be a challenging job but if you ask any
member of my Spacecoast 2689 branch,I'm not afraid of hard work and
I never back away from a challenge. With our new Assistant- Secretary
Lynn Pendleton, we will work together to make sure your dues money
is spent carefully and wisely, all IRS and Labor Department reports
will be sent timely and the legislative agenda of the FSALC is promoted
at the local and national level.
We’re under attack my brothers and sisters. From the right, the republican
governor, and the republican house of representatives. It’s an anti-democrat,
anti-union, anti-Obama atmosphere out there. I know I’m preaching
to the choir but I also know that some of our own members are not
with us. We have to work to change that. Divided we will fall ! We
all have to get involved. Our jobs and benefits are at stake. Give
to COLCPE. It really is job insurance. Be an e-activist and write
your congressperson when called upon by President Rolando. Attend
a local rally. Show the public we care. There are many issues on the
table right now from fighting to keep 6 day delivery to who we will
support in the November election. We have alot of work ahead of us.
Don't leave it for someone else to do !
